The project's primary objective was to develop a meaningful and accessible instructional training module tailored to dental hygiene students. The module focuses on the fundamental technique of proper sealant placement. Over three weeks, I meticulously crafted this digital artifact using Genially. I strategically integrated Bloom's Taxonomy to structure learning objectives, emphasizing memorization of procedure steps and applying that knowledge in a clinical scenario.

In addition to this framework, I incorporated the principles of instruction outlined by David Merrill, ensuring that the design is centered around the learner and highlights real-world relevance. The final product is an engaging asynchronous digital presentation that is a comprehensive instructional resource. It encompasses crucial clinical indications for the sealant placement procedure and video demonstrations visually guiding the proper placement technique.

The module features a well-organized blend of textual content paired with digital images of the necessary armamentarium, detailed procedural steps, potential clinical complications, and interactive questions designed to engage learners and facilitate immediate feedback. In conjunction with this project, I prepared a reflective paper exploring my challenges and considered how these experiences will shape my future instructional design practices.

The project centered on creating an informative and engaging instructional video explicitly tailored for dog owners who are either considering or eager to embark on the delightful journey of making homemade dog treats. Over an intensive week, I dedicated myself to meticulously crafting this video using my iPhone and the editing software iMovie. My method was grounded in the instructivist model, strategically applying Richard Mayer’s multimedia principles of Instruction to maximize learning effectiveness.

This video is a comprehensive step-by-step guide filled with visually engaging and easy-to-follow content that equips viewers with all the necessary knowledge to create delectable dog treats at home. It thoroughly enumerates safe and nutritious ingredients, ensuring dog owners can confidently select healthful options for their furry companions. Additionally, the video outlines an inventory of essential supplies needed for the preparation process, such as mixing bowls, baking sheets, and measuring tools.

Furthermore, it presents a systematic walkthrough of each step in crafting the treats, from preparing the mixture to dividing and baking, ensuring clarity and simplicity throughout the process. The goal is to empower dog owners with the skills and confidence to produce wholesome, homemade treats while nurturing a deeper bond with their pets through the shared joy of cooking together. By the end of the video, viewers are equipped with knowledge and inspired to embark on this delightful culinary adventure for their beloved dogs.
