Executive  Summary

The field of instructional technology is dynamic and continually evolving, requiring professionals who can adapt quickly, apply research-based practices, and harness emerging advances. It also demands innovative, analytical designers and project managers with strong communication skills. My education in the Master of Science in Instructional Technology program at the University of Tennessee has provided me with these capabilities through extensive, project-based learning experiences that align with industry demands.

At UT, I engaged in authentic, hands-on projects that extended beyond traditional instruction. These included ethical design initiatives focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), along with the exploration of theoretical and pedagogical approaches in multimedia, online learning, and human-computer interaction. I strengthened my project management and multimedia design skills through work in blogging, podcasting, videography, assistive technologies, gamification, and artificial intelligence.

Collaboration was a cornerstone of the program, as I partnered with fellow graduate students on real-world instructional design projects that mirrored professional practice. Combined with my background as a clinical instructor and healthcare educator, these experiences uniquely position me to create innovative, learner-centered solutions across both academic and corporate environments. I am committed to lifelong learning and will continue to expand my expertise through professional organizations, self-directed study, and continuing education to remain at the forefront of the field.
