Executive Summary
The field of instructional technology is dynamic and continually evolving, requiring professionals who can identify, adapt to, and harness significant advances. It also demands innovative, creative, and analytical project managers with strong communication skills. My education at the University of Tennessee has equipped me with these skills through extensive instructional experiences that meet industry demands. At UT, my studies extended beyond traditional instruction; examples of some of these projects can be found in this portfolio.
UT provided numerous hands-on, project-based learning experiences, including ethical design development focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and various theoretical and pedagogical approaches in multimedia and teaching modalities. I worked to enhance my project management and multimedia design skills across several areas, such as blogging, podcasting, videography, assistive technologies, gamification, and artificial intelligence.
Moreover, I collaborated on several authentic group projects with fellow IT graduate students, which provided valuable real-world practical experience. My academic and professional knowledge and expertise instill confidence in my ability to meet the rigorous demands of the field. However, as a former educator, I recognize that learning is a continuous process, and there is always room for growth and acquiring new knowledge. Therefore, I plan to continue to grow my expertise through professional organizations, self-study, and other continuing education opportunities.
